National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Association
Dissolution of the Vietnam Chapter of the National EOD Association.
On Friday the 15th of September 2022, at the National EOD Association convention in St. Louis, MO, the Vietnam Veterans chapter of the Association met along with all NATEODA members present at the convention.
Mike Tavano (Commander of the Vietnam Chapter) called the meeting to order and there was a discussion on the future of the Chapter.
The question was asked, “Is the National EOD Association”, being portrayed as Army EOD Veterans from Vietnam?” Rather than, as an all-Service National EOD Association that is welcoming to the total “EOD Family”.
It was concluded that the Chapter may be holding the National Association back from recruiting members of the younger generation EOD Technicians.
There was a motion made by Stu Steinberg, and seconded by Mike Nichols.
The motion was carried by an overwhelming majority of the members present. The Vietnam Chapter of the NATEODA is now dissolved.
The members from the Vietnam chapter will remain members of the National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Association.
The Vietnam Chapter was established in 2007, their charter required the members to be National EOD Association members.
The Vietnam Chapter’s 15 year association with the National EOD Association will be preserved in Association History.
