Association dues are $40 annually for regular and associate members, and $75 annually for corporate members. Dues are paid every year beginning with the initial application.
Regular Membership
Any person who graduated from the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal at Indian Head, Maryland, or Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, was awarded the EOD badge and military occupational specialty in any of the U.S. armed forces, and can provide evidence of honorable military service is eligible for regular membership in NATEODA.
Also eligible for regular membership are military service members who were awarded the EOD military occupational specialty and assigned to military EOD duties without attending a recognized military EOD school, served honorably in any of the US armed forces, and can provide evidence of honorable service.
Effective 15 September 2022, Public Safety Bomb Technicians who have graduated from the Hazardous Device Course at Redstone Arsenal Alabama, and is working in, or has worked as a Bomb Tech, is now eligible for regular membership.
Regular members may attend meetings, vote on Association business, and are eligible to serve as Association officers and Board members.
Associate Membership
a. Associate membership may be awarded to selected individuals, groups, or organizations (military or civilian) which are part of the world EOD family, and which are not qualified for regular NATEODA membership. This membership is considered when it would be of mutual EOD fraternal or professional benefit, but it in no way authorizes, encourages or condones any breach of U.S. security laws and regulations.
b. Associate membership is awarded by a majority vote of the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Membership Committee.
c. Associate members pay dues, and may attend NATEODA meetings, but are not eligible to vote.
d. Associate Membership for Surviving Spouses of Active Members. Any surviving spouse of a member of NATEODA who was current on his or her dues when they passed away, shall be a Lifetime Associate Member of NATEODA. They shall not be required to pay dues. If they wish to attend the annual convention, their registration fee shall be waived.
e. Any parent of a U.S. military Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, who is a Gold Star parent, and whose child died in combat, shall be a lifetime honorary member of NATEODA, even if the soldier was not an active member. They shall not be required to pay dues and shall be entitled to attend the annual convention without paying the registration fee.
Corporate Membership
Corporate members support the EOD community and are invited to join the Association. A corporation membership may have up to three individual memberships. Individual corporate members may attend meetings, participate in business discussions, but not vote on Association business.
